Kim studied product design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, where she graduated with honours in 1999 under Enzo Mari. A formative study visit took her to the renowned Design Academy Eindhoven, where she discovered her passion for interdisciplinary work at the intersection of fashion, art, architecture and industrial design under Lidewij Edelkoort and Ulf Moritz.
After her first few years working independently for internationally renowned designers such as Matteo Thun, Ulf Moritz, BEHF Architects, Eichinger and Knechtl, she broadened her spectrum by training as a resonance coach – a path that added the dimension of perception and impact to her creative work.
In 2005, she co-founded the KENH office community – Office for Architecture and Design, with which she realised numerous projects in the field of architecture, interior design and identity over a decade.
Kim Tien has been running her own studio for design and interior architecture in Vienna since 1999. Since 2022, she has been based at Atelierhaus C21. She also continues to work as a consultant and freelancer for KENH Architekten ZT GmbH.
